The innovative grass catcher box is made of plastic and features a folding mechanism that makes it particularly easy to open and empty. The current of air produced during mowing blows the clippings into the grass catcher box and ensures its optimum filling. Special vanes in the box channel the air towards the ground, and so protect the user and lawn mower alike from dust and dirt that has been thrown up. The level indicator signals the correct time for emptying. The airflow generated by the blade raises the level indicator. When the basket is full, the airflow stops. If the airflow is too low, the level indicator returns to its idle state and this is an indication to empty the catcher box. Optimal airflow is required in order for the level indicator to function fully. External influences such as wet, dense or tall grass, a low cutting height, contamination, etc. may affect the airflow and the performance of the level indicator.
The flow-optimised blade trims the grass with minimal resistance, only swirling the air as much as absolutely necessary. As a result it consumes minimal battery capacity, which means that the stored energy is sufficient for the largest possible area.
The central cutting height adjustment on this STIHL battery-powered lawn mower is spring-loaded making it easy to operate, and has several adjustment levels to obtain the desired cutting height for the lawn. The current height is indicated by a scale. In this way, the grass can always be optimally adapted to the conditions of the lawn surface and the use.
